Rotationally Grazed Poultry

Happy chickens produce happy eggs, and here at Blue Ridge Farm we work hard to ensure that our flock of poultry gets to enjoy the best life possible.

To achieve this goal, we custom built our four-season mobile chicken coop, which allows us to rotationally graze our poultry year-round.

The coop has a mesh bottom, enabling us to better fertilize our pastures while also keeping the coop clean. We move the coop every other day, ensuring fresh grass and a ready supply of bugs for our birds. The result is a supply of some of the most delicious eggs you’ll find, with bright orange yolks and excellent muscle tone.

The best part of the coop design? We utilize a special system of nesting boxes that allow the eggs to roll into a collection tray that can be accessed from outside of the coop, ensuring beautifully clean eggs every day.
